Cream Tangerine, Bondi Beach
Cream Tangerine was a hugely successful outdoor summertime venue. A 3 year project launching in 2009 and completed at the end of summer 2011. Cream Tangerine, with a capacity of 600-1000 guests has housed some amazing special events across it’s 3 year duration. Our New Years Eve and New Years day parties are among the local favourites, with no guesses as to why.
“Until now there’s not been a destination in Bondi where- unless you are really ‘dining out’- you can get a great cocktail and be part of a vibrant social scene- all set off with dramatic views of the ocean. Customers can make use of daybeds, ‘Miami-style’. The idea is you book out one of the beds, have a few cocktails with friends, and then adjourn to the beach. Or vice versa. But when you’re ready, return to your daybed, order some tapas, maybe another cocktail: the rest of the day is there to unfold...”
For re:love’s Mark Bowey, “The one thing everyone notices on arrival is the stunning views afforded across the ocean, and the bustle and ambience of Bondi Beach. We came up with many variants and ideas for a name, but kept coming back to ‘That View’, to the spectacular palette of colours unfolding across to the horizon as the day progressed to sunset”. Never static, the colours that unfurl in the sea, in the sky, create a breath-taking backdrop from which you can unwind while time unravels around you. “Cream Tangerine” is the colour the sky and the sea go just after the sun falls behind the ocean, at the end of a perfect day”..
Richard Avedon’s 1967 portrait of George Harrison [an original, imported in specially from Paris] defines the indoor area, and compliments the collection of Sixties antiques which give Tangerine it’s signature ‘Pop’ flavour.
